About KickArts

KickArts is a creative learning workshop program on every school holiday for children 5 to 17 years.

Professional tutors teach all workshops in our well-equipped studios. The program is continually expanding to incorporate different artforms alongside traditional mediums and includes painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, jewellery, textiles, photography, performing arts, creative writing and more.

Please note:

  • Children must be registered to attend workshops.

  • It is recommended that your child wear old clothes or bring an apron as some workshops such as pottery can get messy.

  • You will need to drop off and pick up your child from the room where the class is being held. Check the office for directions and please sign the class list in the room when you drop off and pick up your child. Children will not be permitted to leave the Cannery at the end of class without a parent/guardian.

  • All tutors and staff hold valid Working with Children Checks. The children are always supervised by the tutor or Cannery Arts Centre staff member.

  • Please ensure your child has water and snack/lunch if it’s an extended workshop.

If you have an idea for a workshop or would like to be a Cannery tutor, please get in touch with our KickArts Coordinator Allyson Tas ally@canneryarts.com.au.

IGO Limited sponsors KickArts with support from the Shire of Esperance and Regional Arts WA through the Regional Arts Sector Investment (RASI) program provided by the WA State Government’s Regional Arts and Cultural Investment Program (RACIP) through the Department of Local Government, Sports and Cultural Industries.
